General
Sports
and Leisure buildings - mostly for local Communities - have
been a basis of the work of Gaia Architects since its foundation.
Over the years expertise in both the procurement of such facilities
and in innovative technical solutions has evolved.
The methodology developed for the Ullapool Swimming Pool in
the early 80's has been developed in numerous feasibility studies
to bring forward community leisure aspirations. Gaia is carrying
out 5 such exercises currently.
Many of these projects have gone forwards to be designed and
built by Gaia - including the McLaren Centre at Callander and
other technically innovative projects following it at Glasgow,
Cumbernauld and Kinlochleven.
