Crossmount
House
Kinloch
Rannoch
Crossmount
House is a B Listed building with a fascinating history
situated overlooking Dunalastair Water by Kinloch Rannnoch.
There is believed to have been a building on this site
since the 11th century.
The present structure dates largely from the 17th century and
was altered in a Gothic style about 1825 by the architect James
Gillespie Graham who was also involved in works to Taymouth
Castle before Queen Victoria's visit in 1842.
Since 1999 Gaia Architects have been assisting the present
owners to systematically repair the fabric of this imposing
building to ensure that it is preserved for future generations.
The attic level main roof structure and finishes have been
replaced as well as the front turret & rear bathroom block.
The replacement of the central stairway is now planned including
installing a flight of stone stairs from the basement to the
ground floor and replacing two flights of curved timber stairs.
