Innovative ecological design is part of the basis of Gaia's approach to buildings. The need for high quality scientific and technical support and for research and feedback has led to the development of a new company within the Gaia Group - Gaia Research.

All Projects with a research requirement of significance are fed through the rigour of specialist review of the research methodology.

The wide range of projects within the research portfolio covers areas from Materials such as roundpole, earth, straw, slab wood and cellulose fibre - to heat & vent strategies from Breathing walls, natural and dynamic ventilation, and solar air conditioning - to Animal Architecture and Green Guidance for architects.
