Ledliath
Bunkhouse
Culkein
Drumbeg, Sutherland
This
bunkhouse, tucked in behind the original house built
in 1997, was completed in 2003.
It is a completely timber structure built on pad foundations,
constructed in Scottish timber with Larch cladding and a mixed
heather & turf roof finish.
The plan is split level following the ground levels. The main
living area is at the lower level with a large west facing
verandah and views in three directions. At the upper level
there is a bedroom, sauna & shower room.
With 250mm of cellulose insulation in the roof, 150mm in the
walls & 200mm in the floor this is a very cosy little house
that rarely needs the wood burning stove firing up.
