Bridge
of Lyon
Fortingall
Gaia
carried out an extension to this former Chapel situated
beside the listed Bridge over the River Lyon on the edge
of the historic village of Fortingall. The first floor
has raised views south over the river and to the west.
It is accessed via a steel & oak stair
in a tall link space and has an open ceiling with exposed
timber trusses. The extension is very highly insulated
with cellulose. There is underfloor heating below the
tiles in the link space and a central wood burning stove
in the living area. The roof is finished with Scottish
slate and some of the elevations have been clad with
cleft oak shingles.
