Sustainable Neighbourhood Audit Project

AIM

SNAP is a proposal for international co-operation on the development of tools for sustainable communities, where the aim is to establish a network of community projects which are interested to develop a model sustainable development and audit procedure.

Agenda

To establish an international network of sustainable development projects.
To establish the framework within which the network can cooperate to mutual benefit.
To set individual goals - and methodologies for their achievement - for each network project.
To undertake a programme of development and/or audit.
To develop mechanisms for sharing experiences throughout the programme.
To write up the process in both individual project and network terms.
Gaia Group has developed a set of tools aimed at furthering the sustainable development of communities. This model has been derived empirically over many years on the basis of working in various neighbourhoods which were evolving, either from a new beginning or from a perceived need for regeneration.
