Central Scotland Countryside Trust - Office Development, Shotts

Gaia were commissioned to prepare indicative designs for proposed Trust headquarters offices, for a staff of fifty within a green field site of 4.5 hectares at Shotts. The office building should also include for the provision of conference and business meeting rooms, education and library facilities. Elsewhere on the site, provision should be allocated for a Forest Craft Workshop with associated offices, storage and carparking facilities.The designs and costs were incorporated into a Prospectus, prepared by Gaia, for use by the Trust to explain to the public and private sector, of the benefits of their financial involvement in an innovative and environmentally sustainable project.

Approach

Indicative designs were prepared for the offices and workshops, based on the issued design brief and the outcome of a number of workshops held with the Directors and Staff from the Trust. The indicative designs allowed for development and detailed costs to be prepared for the overall project.
